Y’all are overdue an update.
I Am Available to Work
When I started this Substack a year and a month ago, I expected to post infrequently. Instead, I ended up hitting roughly about 4 posts per month and change. Then after a weirdly post-heavy September, I’ve slowly trickled down to only one post per month. This lives up to my stated requirement that subscribers are guaranteed at least one STSC Symposium a month.
For the most part the lack of updates correlated with a full time permalance schedule, but that company has now signed me on for another year at the expense of being restricted back to 20-25 hour weeks, or just slightly more time than The Good Schedule.
This go-round, however, The Good Schedule is turning out to feel more like underemployment than opportunity. This year I am investing a lot more in my creative projects and also traveling more than I had since the pandemic, so income is basically parity or a bit lower than expenses.
I haven’t yet started job hunting seriously, but I am now putting feelers out and responding to jobs that trickle my way. On that note, if you’re reading this and need some video editing or video production, feel free to email me as I am now marked available to work.
Projects
Another reason I’ven’t been active on Substack is because I’ve been working on a 7 minute long short film I shot in October that is now titled Ominous Horizon.
Ominous Horizon is about a man who gets struck by lightning on a clear day and wakes up with visions of the world ending. As he races around Corona Park, people and landmarks appear to be monstrosities and nobody will listen to his ranting because they think he’s just another insane homeless person.
